In ancient Egyptian religion the scarab was also a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection much used in funerary art. The life of the scarab beetle revolved around the dung balls that the beetles consumed, laid their eggs in, and fed their young represented a cycle of rebirth.

The chain featured on this piece 14k gold-filled with a lobster claw clasp. The standard chain length for this necklace is 18" but can be made longer per special request.

14K gold-filled, also known as "rolled gold" or "rolled gold plate" is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as silver in this case. Gold-filled items, even with daily wear, can last one to two years but will eventually wear through.

All of our pieces are wearable art. They should be treated with extra special care and love! Although breakage is a rare occurrence, we understand it can still happen. Keep jewelry dry and away from water, take pieces off when bathing, swimming, washing hands.
